1. What this covers

Cookies are small values stored by your browser. Similar browser storage can remember a setting without using a cookie. This page describes both technologies as currently used by IsFoul.

2. Strictly necessary storage

• Supabase authentication cookies (`sb-…-auth-token` and any split parts): maintain and refresh a secure signed-in session. Their lifetime follows the authentication session and refresh-token configuration.
• `ISFOUL_LOCALE`: remembers English or Spanish for up to one year so IsFoul does not repeatedly detect your country or ask for the same preference.
• Theme storage: remembers light, dark, or system appearance in browser local storage until you clear it.

3. No advertising or optional analytics cookies

IsFoul currently does not place advertising, behavioral-tracking, or optional analytics cookies. Because the storage listed above is necessary for requested functionality or remembers a choice you make, there is currently no non-essential cookie consent banner.

If optional analytics, advertising, or embedded third-party tracking is introduced, it will remain disabled until the required consent choice is available.

4. External sources

Evidence links open on third-party websites. Those sites may use their own cookies after you visit them. IsFoul does not control those cookies; review the third party’s notices before continuing.

For supported YouTube evidence, IsFoul initially displays a poster without loading the player. The privacy-enhanced YouTube player (`youtube-nocookie.com`) connects only after you press play, does not autoplay beforehand, and may then use cookies or similar storage under YouTube’s terms. You can instead open the official source in a new tab.

5. Managing storage

You can delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking authentication cookies will prevent sign-in. Removing the locale or theme preference will reset that choice but will not remove your account.

6. Updates

We will update this page when storage names, purposes, providers, or retention periods materially change.
